What We're Creating
bilger family vineyards
The foundation of great wine is great fruit. What we are creating at our Bilger Family Estate Vineyard is the cornerstone of the family winery we call Adega Vinho. Our connection with the land and commitment to sustainable agriculture is a key factor in crafting our wines.
adega vinho, our winery
Adega Vinho means "Wine Cellar" in Portuguese. We hope our traditional style and willingness to follow the traditional wine making process, rather than drive it, make Adega Vinho Wine part of your cellar and a regular companion at your table. Come visit the winery soon!

Our Mission
The Bilger Family mission is to grow high quality grapevines in the challenging Fredericksburg AVA(American Viticultural Area) of the Texas Hill Country and produce great tasting wines from our grapes. These difficult to grow Texas Hill Country grapes will be crafted into wonderful flowing blends to satisfy your palette. A distinct selection of single varietal wines will be born when the vintage is appropriate. Bilger Family Vineyards, and Adega Vinho, our winery, are the product of a thirty-year dream of founder Andrew Bilger.
Pastoral and historic Stonewall, Texas, is our beautiful Hill Country home where you will find co-founders Michael & Elena, Andrew's brother & wife, and the rest of the Bilger Family. The Bilger Family, and staff, are working diligently so that our grapes receive all the care and attention required to craft our fine Texas wines. Beyond the grapes, vines and wines, the Bilger Family is deeply dedicated to good stewardship of our land and environment by adhering to sound, healthy, sustainable agricultural practices, thus allowing us to pass the land forward in better condition than when we acquired it. We spend locally within our community, humbly giving back to our neighbors through our time, our service and our profits, and finally measuring our success in the amount of good we have accomplished over the past year.
