The Bilger family History

The Bilger Family's story is no more unusual or interesting than the average American story. We are a mixed bag of nationalities, some of us arrived prior to the American Revolution, some of us fought in the Civil War, while others landed on our shores more recently. Our ancestors farmed, worked the railroads, drilled for oil, mined coal, ministered, built buildings and businesses, and all worked hard to build better lives for the next generations.

Today the Bilger Family is spread around the world and across the fruited plains of the Americas. We hold close the ideals of our past while gazing hopefully, and with great expectation, into our future. Our story is one that we hope will cause you to laugh, probably cry, and hopefully inspire. It is, in its simplest form, a story of two brothers and a wife, backed by a wonderfully supportive extended family, who have dreamed for years of farming grapes and producing wine.  It is a story of hard work and adversity. For those of us who love adventure and stepping into the unknown, Andy, Michael & Elena, invite you to dive in and join them in planting the vines of the Bilger Family's future. We can't know what the future holds, and certainly there will be ups and downs, but we know overall we are going to have a damn good ride along the way. We hope that you will help us write the next chapters of the Bilger Family story by following and supporting our journey through your patronage. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to provide you with the best products, from our wines to your experiences, here at Adego Vinho. We intend on sharing our work, our struggles and our celebrations as they define the times and experiences that will shape our wine and business.
